disappointment seems benign these days
listless in faith
though i used to pray

someone i could speak to
without a single thought
a single hesitation

im through talking to myself
the walls are just as bored with me
so much so, they got up to leave
i have so much to say, but nobody's listening
found a trap to get out of
found a place just as lonely as me

i look at myself and ask
what do you want? what do you feel?
its demonstrative of what drags me down
i want peace, i want war
i want wisdom, i want more than a feeling
more than prescribed, no more hellos, no more good byes

im through talking to myself
the walls are just as bored with me
so much so, they got up to leave
i have so much to say, but nobody's listening
found a trap to get out of
found a place just as lonely as me

i wrote this note in lieu of abandonment
pent out sorrow, full of anger and regret
show me a sign to prove that im not right
the sky is dark, the wind's gone still and everything i see is just so real
